Don't confuse authority with appearance. Appearances are a part of deception. One fake Mahatma was forced on India,and the consequences for the nation were brutal.  Droupadi Murmu is (made)the president, but don't think that tribal women in India hold the power. 

Same applies to Rushi Sunak and even Ramaswamy's case.  They are put in place for public perception. That's a way to show 'diversity' the new shield of the elites. The same is pushed in corporate sector. Hire women, minorities (aka people of color). One reason for accommodative hiring of Indians, Chinese, blacks, and other races and preferring women (if you're non white double bonus) more or less like reservation in India.

To hold power you need control over money and resources.  Unfortunately, neither central banks nor  military and law enforcement are in the hands of Indians.
