Anta Assamey Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 The Telugu Desam Party, which has a nominal presence in Telangana state, has lost yet another standing wicket, following the uncertainty over the party’s possibility of contesting the assembly elections in the state to be held on November 30. On Friday, TDP politburo member and former MLA Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in the presence of the party working president and Minister KT Rama Rao at Telangana Bhavan. Earlier, he called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan. Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, one of the TDP’s most loyal leaders from erstwhile Mahabubnagar district, has been with the party since TDP founder NT Rama Rao’s tenure. He said he had quit the party since he was dissatisfied with the party’s recent decisions. He stated that he was inclined to join the BRS which was driving Telangana on the progressive path and become a part of this growth story. KTR welcomed Chandrasekhar Reddy into the BRS with a pink scarf at Telangana Bhavan. Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, MP P Ramulu, MLA A Venkateshwer Reddy, and former MP Manda Jagannadham along with many leaders were present in this programme. Meanwhile, another senior leader Cheruku Sudhakar, who had merged his Telangana Inti Party with the Congress last year, quit the Congress. He served as TPCC senior vice president and OBC wing leader. In an open letter to TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, Sudhakar said he was hurt by Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s behaviour towards BCs in the party and personally abusing him. During the “unemployed meeting” held at Nalgonda recently, a section of leaders were denied permission to get onto the stage. This apart, it was very clear as to how Madhu Yaskhi Goud, a BC leader was being treated by the party and how Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, an upper caste leader was being favoured, he said. “We served the party without aspiring for any posts or positions but we will not compromise our self-respect. I appeal to the high command to give due recognition to BCs and marginalized sections in the party”, Cheruku Sudhakar said. Quote
