NTR Shown As Real-Hero In ‘R-C’

Though films like ‘Robot’ ‘Brindaavanam’ created a hype and scored success the impact and heat the film ‘Rakta Charitra’ has been creating caught my attention. Keeping aside the fact that director Ram Gopal Varma loves controversy, what really struck me was whether there was any meaning in the current chaos being created about belittling the great N T Rama Rao.

So, I really went to watch ‘Rakta Charitra’ to find out why NTR was shown as villain. But after watching the film, I was taken by surprise as to where or why the controversy is. To those who feel that NTR was shown as a joker, they must turn back time and remember films like ‘Mandaladheesudu’ ‘Kaliyuga Viswamitra’ in the year 1990. After watching ‘Rakta Charitra’ I strongly believe that NTR was not shown in the negative light. He was a shrewd politician who was trying hard to push his party in one area. As for the bizarre observation that he was shown as a villain by using a factionist, that was completely justified as it was clear that nobody can kill Bukka Reddy legally and given the beast inside Bukka Reddy, it was completely fair in eliminating him in whatever means possible. Some felt that Shivaji Rao playing cricket was funny but what’s funny about that, isn’t he supposed to do that and just keep raising his hand and roll out dialogues?.

For one, if Ramu believed that Shivaji Rao was the mirror image of the great N T Rama Rao, then I am with him as he has not degraded, humiliated or insulted the legend. It was a portrayal of reality and that too on the good side. All this troubleshooting and attempts to create a controversy is just unwanted and for once, I am seeing NTR as a person outside his aura and enigma which has made me respect him even more. Well done Ramu!!
