check out titus on youtube channel. He lives offgrid without electricity in appalachia region(kentucky), growing his own food since 8 years,doesn't wear slippers

off the grid living requires extreme levels of perseverance and smarts. not everyone can do it.

most of them end up in some kind of commune since they can't do it alone, and find that its full of sexual predators.

the climate doesn't matter. what matters is how smart, resourceful and lucky you are.

you can do this in alaska too, on a purely vegan diet. You just need to understand the ecosystem and plan on how to do it.

There's a popular sci fi writer who currently lives in appalachian mountains off grid on a completely vegan lifestyle.

Its a choice one makes based on the ethics they hold.
