Moving to New place is very personal choice I wanted to list what worked for me..for everyone things could be very different

 

+ve

1.remote job no worry about driving to work

2.Outdoor life (running walking tennis pickleball volleyball cricket etc year round

3.friends and relatives social circles atleast 20 known friends and old colleagues relatives moved to dallas 

4.build a custom home on a large lot with pool many states don't have this have facility and pools are waste in north 

5.live in a master planned communities where schools are walkable distance to homes and also no lawn maintenance and ample of amenities like volleyball basketball tennis pickbeball biking soccer  kayak party hall restratunts in community for very low hoa around 100pm

6.food. .. I struggled a lot in north to get good food at a quality with decent price..here u can jawar roti Irani chai evening snacks like bajji punugulu grill panner curries chutneys powders Street food chaat fresh juices sandwiches pasties cakes there are so many variety of food options sometimes I feel am India almost

7.most important wife being happy with less work of cooking etc we get lot of cleaners I am less irritated because no lawn work less stuff to take care mean more fun

8.in general  travel  connectivity  like emirates ba ethihad..if u live in secondary city u know the pain..also domestic travel connection like southwest etc..

9. More travel as there is nothing to scenic near by so ppl travel to colarado most beatiful place on earth new Mexico Destin FL for vacations this can been like -ve for many but positive for me

10.real estate appreciation like north states never seen these kind of price appreciation like texas 

11.community services like diwali sweets or kids classes like bharatanatyam chess classes all available in the neighborhoods due to large community presence women likes these services facials mehendi so many selling festive wear so we can new dresses for festivals also very low prices if we want we can shop at places like boutiques manyawar and gold shops coming plenty in dallas like tanshiq and Malabar diamonds 

 

12.ampmle number of temples for festival visits and cultural and religious activities like bahavagita and chinmayay mission kids teaching good about our culture

Inka many more day to day comforts like indian grocery open until midnight makes shopping life so easy after kids go to bed 

13.being south we get ample of sun no need of sunrooms like north ..vitamin deficiency lanti gabbu issues undavu kids also play in street or trampoline all the time

14.we can easily opt for electric cars and solar panels and save so much on gas electricity and avoid power outages  and cold places lo idi konchem issue

Too hot summers 

Too much desi intrusion if u can avoid best

Some indian restarunts inconsistent food

Critters so far luckily have not seen myself Some ppl shared pics Herr n there in summer time

Avoid living in green spaces and water

Hail Storms and winter freeze(techncially locked in homes ) and power outages 

 

Weather fluctuations too much 89 to 35 one day ..small kids unte easy ga sick avutaru

Infections and allergies very high

Apartments ite roaches issues as they are super duper old Some of them in irivng Richardson 

 

Atleast this is my experience last three years might not have covered all I am happy with my decision atleast 90%

Positives: Good food

Negatives: 1000s .. mainly KG Camps, KG meetings, what else you need? Also the kids will grow in desi style and will not be able to mingle with other ethnicities when they go into wider society. Also the families who do not earn much will be looked down and bullied and treated like bull sh!t, as I can see from thousands of posts I followed in AFDB since 2009

True some extent thsts why I always teach kids diversity and we stay in community with mixed ethnicity not 100% desis and as lucky last three years I was able to stay away 100% desi subs I keep my own business don't interfere in others ..I talk to all kind of people in terms of getting information and what's going on around community kids safety etc ..I have avoided frisco for this reason.
