I was in the same boat recently and ended up going with one after checking out this list: https://www.insta360.com/blog/tips/best-dash-camera-for-cars.html. It helped me pick one that had reliable parking mode with motion detection and didn’t drain my car battery. Setup was pretty easy too. Some of those options have good video clarity both day and night, which is what I was mainly looking for.
