Help Needed - Medium SUV car

Recommended Posts

Posted

Been looking around for medium size SUV under the budget of 40K (OTD)... Liked Honda CRV-EXL trim not hybrid where it fitted my price budget exactly... but looking other options such as Kia Seltos / Kia Sportage / Nissan Rogue... Not interested in 3rd row as of now, as we are family of 3 and parents visit here very rare.

Experts - pls share your experience and thoughts of which one is best currently in the market

ignore Kia, Nissan

Forester is a good choice but it’s underpowered

If you’re considering Nissan, look at Mitsubishi. They’re making good cars again

Subaru Forrester or Outback - one of this is best option especially if u are in snowy regions

Ford Escape Hybrid - manchi mileage istundi if u commute decently  ..

Chevy Edge or Equinox - I drove this car .. when I was on vacation .. really loved it .. extended warranty theskunte it will cover all the so called expected issues (for any not just limited to Chevy vehicle post warranty)

Hyundai Tuscan or Santa Fe

Mazda CX-5 turbo signature. Comes with all bells and whistles.

Cons -

1. Legroom on second row is a bit tighter compared to other cars in its segment.

2. If you're going with turbo - mpg is on the lower end 22/27.

Crv is probably the best in that segment hybrid is worth it if you drive 10k+ every year.

Rav4 is best seller. reliable, bland , okay in every aspect but not great. Most risk free purchase

Mazda CX-5 is great to drive , colours are amazing especially the red . Very reliable too

Avoid Nissan , Kia , Hyundai , chevy , Ford , etc . The small discount you get at the time of purchase will be lost during resale

If one plans on keeping the vehicle for longer periods like 7-8 yrs or so .. then resale is so over rated term .. it’s a matter of selling it for 10k vs 6K  ,, I know this as I sold Honda accord and my friends sold Nissan altima, Hyundai Santa Fe and Acura MDX

Honda CRV in 2012 was considered a beginner suv , with 26 to 32 price range

I bought accord for 23 k as my 1st car and I was on the moon.

now you have to pay 40 k vow I can’t imagine paying 40 k for Honda brands
