teenage kid started going out side without parents…so one perspective is security and communication…

other perspective is…this is teenage so is it too early to introduce mobile in their life…?

 

any thoughts..?

The kid should have a personal laptop by now, preferably walking him through gentoo installation. 

No adult controls. 

If you can build the laptop yourself it's even better. 

But most upper middle class parents lack the balls to be this open.

Teach the kid how to think and act independently. Not be a perfect capitalist worker

Better to give phone and make sure they dont spend more time on it and learn how to handle it

There are watches that offer both tracking and calling if I am not wrong. Look into them. but I think teenage lo nonsmart phone ivvadam kooda needed or smart phone ee ichi kid mode on cheyi.

my son is 14+…these kid modes will be below 13 mostly…

i tried this in family ipad…last time…

He will feel outdated from his peers… if restricted.. here almost everyone gives phone even before that age. That’s the generation. We can’t really “restrict” anything by restricting things like that just for our satisfaction. Kid tho free ga untu kuda monitor cheyochu… it all depends on the bond we develop as they grow. We need to recalibrate time to time to maintain that.
