What does your kid want ... I have seen some kids who are 14+ but dont need phone yet and ok with watch with cellular plan. You can restrict lot of content using Apple family setup if you already have iphone and planning to buy iphone for your kid. I personally got an apple watch for my kid with cellular plan. He is 10. He doesn't need a phone but he plays outside a lot and he goes to his friends home on his own so its easier for me and wife to track location and communicate with him Quote

Watch SE 2 is a cheap option and you can always call/text him like a regular phone 1 Quote

Vaaaampire Posted November 22, 2023 Report Posted November 22, 2023 We have to coup up with generations. Thats the bottom line. nenu eng second year lo bike adigithey maa nanna nee age lo memu cycle meedha thirigeyvallam ani lectures ichevadu. Appudu manam urukomu gaa. if ur kids asks for it, just give it & clearly communite the terms and u trust them. That approach is lot better than you saying no and they over reacting 1 Quote
veerigadu Posted November 22, 2023 Report Posted November 22, 2023 You think you have a choice? I dont think so. At the end of the day, he needs to be in sync with his contemporaries. Just buy it. 1 Quote

Very unfortunate situation and unavoidable. They need to spend more time with friends (in-person) and assignments/projects for their high school. 1 Quote
baabaa Posted November 22, 2023 Report Posted November 22, 2023 Apple Watch SE with Cellular. Its more than enough to call/txt them and also see in Find My where they are. This is for 11 year old. I think when kid hits 14 years then parental controls are gone in Apple I think. Quote
