3 minor girls jump out of balcony from 9th floor, because the Korean game instructed them
Husband, 3 Wives, 5 Children: All 9 Slept In Single Room, New Details In Ghaziabad Triple Suicide Fresh details emerging in the Ghaziabad sisters’ death case have now suggested that nine members allegedly slept in a single room despite the flat being a three-bedroom unit, NDTV reported, citing police sources. According to the report, Chetan Kumar, the father of the minor girls, lived in the Bharat City Society apartment with his three wives, Sujata, Hina and Tina, and their five children. Even though the home had three bedrooms, investigators found that all nine occupants slept in one room, a fact that has now become part of the wider probe into the family’s circumstances and domestic dynamics. Police sources quoted by NDTV said Chetan had fathered two children with his first wife, Sujata, a daughter and a mentally challenged son. With his second wife, Hina, he had two daughters, aged 14 and 12, while Tina, his youngest wife, has a three-year-old daughter with him. MULTIPLE MARRIAGES, CONSENT: THE TANGLED CASE OF GHAZIABAD SISTERS’ DEATH The report quoted an Assistant Commissioner of Police as saying that Chetan claimed he married Hina because Sujata was unable to conceive. However, investigators have flagged inconsistencies in this explanation, pointing out that Sujata’s elder daughter was believed to be around 16 years old at the time of her death. Kumar reportedly told police that he married Sujata in 2010, Hina in 2013 and Tina in 2023, after Tina converted to Hinduism from Islam. When questioned about how he could marry three women without divorcing any of the earlier wives, the cop quoted Chetan Kumar as saying that the women had apparently consented to the marriages. “No one complained," Kumar had told the police. NDTV also cited the officer as saying that Tina had previously worked with Kumar, and that so far, police believe the other wives had consented to that marriage as well. GHAZIABAD MINOR SISTERS WERE DISTRESSED According to news agency PTI, the police believe the girls were distressed after their father allegedly confiscated and later sold their mobile phones because he felt they were obsessed with Korean culture. PTI quoted DCP (Trans Hindon) Nimish Patil as saying that the sisters had been unable to play online games or speak to friends in Korea after losing their phones. On the night of the incident, they allegedly took their mother’s phone but could not access the Korean application they wanted. A forensic team that seized the handset did not find evidence of access to the app, Patil told PTI. The officer added that fingerprints, the handwritten suicide note and messages recovered from the spot have been sent to the forensic science laboratory, and the report is awaited. PAST CASE, CYBER TRACKING AND FORENSIC ANGLES PTI reported that Kumar had a live-in partner in 2015 who died after falling from the roof of a flat in Rajendra Nagar Colony in the Sahibabad police station area. That case was later closed as a suicide, Patil said. Earlier, the maternal grandfather of the three minor sisters had told reporters that one of his daughters (Chetan Kumar’s sister-in-law), Aanchal, had died after falling off the balcony of Chetan’s flat. PTI also mentioned that Chetan’s three wives, Sujata, Heena and Tina, are biological wives. However, with media reports suggesting that Tina had converted to Hinduism, there was no official confirmation on if the three women were sisters. The three sisters, aged 16, 14, and 12, jumped from the ninth floor of their residential tower. Patil further told PTI that the girls appeared to be more attached to their father than their mothers, a detail that investigators say is reflected in the suicide note, which addressed him but did not mention the women. -
