You can't do much research unless either government or a corporation funds you. Corporations only fund when they see the research actually yields commerical returns. Even then research is not a mass employment option. It has never been. It's likely that after consolation of existing markets by big players in very country (happened in the West already), happened in India too (largely 4-5 groups), rest will be in a gig economy, and/or back to agriculture societies.
