BJP's win will be secured by not only BJP's strengths but also the opposition's glaring weaknesses.

 

1) BJP has a clearly identifiable ideology - Hindutva whether one likes it or not - and when it is combined with a potent mix of nationalism - the resulting concoction is especially appealing in the Hindi speaking states.

2) Modi's own personal charisma is at the moment unmatched in the country. Rahul Gandhi unfortunately is not even in the same ballpark.

3) BJP's organizational strength - BJP has a very well oiled propaganda machine bolstered by their immense financial war chest and organizational strength.

4) At the grassroots - BJP unquestionably has the most ardent supporters drawn from RSS who are generally well known for their fierce commitment to their cause (however misplaced it maybe) and discipline.

5) The opposition currently is so fractured - they are fighting among themselves as to who needs to be the bellwether for their INDIA coalition. After the 3 losses - Congress is being subtly and not so subtly admonished by members within the INDIA alliance.

 

Overall - BJP is well placed currently to secure a 3rd successive term under Modi.
