I heard somewhere that Zaganna mass entry may have played a factor in splitting the state. YCP and Congress share same votebank. But Congress was losing leaders, workers, and voters to YCP in Seemandhra.

At least creating TG, her party could get credit and still have hold there. Meanwhile YCP and TDP will get contained in Andhra, with limited revenue and bargaining power. Sonia and Delhi HC did not like united AP lobbying power.

Not a rumor but fact to some extent.

Sonia thought she will get TG support by forming a separate state. On the other hand, decimate Jagan by placing him in Jail and eventually recover in AP. Both moves failed in 2014.
