Whatsapp transfer from Android to iPhone.. moveto iOS app failed. What are my options?

Google search shows many 3rd party solutions, which are not officially supported.

Did any one tried them ? 

Luckily chat is still there on old android and new iPhone is setup as companion device.

Move to IOS is Apple developed app….I did android to Apple transfer an year back using this app. It’s not 100% perfect but it does copy most of the stuff.

you can upload whatsapp to google drive and restore on new device right?

 

may be you can try export from andriod to google drive and copy that as email and upload that iCloud and restore in iphone

I chose Whatsapp during initial setup. Restore failed and only option is skip import. 

To try means starting over after iPhone reset. This is stupid.

Not sure why Whatsapp can't provide backup and restore option. 

On Android, you can do that anytime.

3rd party apps convert the file format from Android to iPhone.

Had same issue with me, this is how i resolved.

there is this apk link there, download

for me, i had to do it twice

first prepare and move only whatsapp to ios, activate and take backup if whatsapp on ios and again factory reset ios

second, now copy everything from android to ios without whatsapp, once all set on ios, restore whatsapp from icloud backup… twice the effort but worked for me

... I got both pixel 8 pro and 15 pro.... Will decide today... Mostly leaning towards iPhone.

Used Hawaii, Motorola in between... Never paid more then 400$ 😁.
