why does a country exist? hmmm... who knows.

why does India exist, even though every region hates each other?

mostly a country exists because people don't see a way out. they lack the imagination to see alternatives to a country and the will to fight for it.

that's the only reason a country exists.. any country. even the US.

is Hatred for Hindus sustaining pakistan? may be. but that is not an analysis that is useful in anyway, outside of using it for elections in India to further demonize muslims. existence of a country is mostly due to political inertia.

Just like a rail line takes decades to materialize in India, a complex system with multiple power centers will not disintegrate easily, even if it is decaying for decades. Pakistan will break.. and hopefully one day, India will too.

Like this Pakistan analyst said, a Bengali is a Bengali first, Muslim second. A pashtoon is a pashtoon first, Muslim second. A punjabi is a punjabi first Muslim second. If we don't find a national identify for our nation other than hatred for Hindus, we will lose West Pakistan like we lost East Pakistan.

similar claim that India exists purely out of hatred for muslims would be right too then.

you are not pakistani. you are indian. look at what is happening in India.

if not for its large economy, India would be in the exact state that pakistan is in today.

I am not saying that. I simply said what the Pakistani analyst said in their debate. Besides, Indian Muslims are proud to be Indian. They are glad they didn't move to Pakistan. The same cannot be said about Muslims who migrated to Pakistan during the partition.

there are muslims who were stuck in pakistan too in 1947. they have no hope of ever moving to India now. its obvious from how bangladeshis who did are treated.

I don't know about being better than EU, but partition was the worst thing that happened in the region by far.

it strengthened hindutva in India, and islamists in pak/ban, and took away any voice that minorities had in public life. Now minorities are judged by how much they love so and so country, when the country has no intention of loving them back.

It also affected trade between these countries, as is evident from the fall of Kolkata as the greatest Indian city pre 1947 to 3rd greatest Indian city.

Indian Union can include Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. It will be a powerful union similar to the European Union with 7 countries as a Union.
