H1B Amendment and Extension - Due in 6 months

Hello DB Members,

Will my amendment also extend my H1B extension ?  If not should I file extension again after amendment approved ?

Before when I did amendments , when my h1b was valid more than 6 months , I used to get until previous approved date ?

Amendment is itself filing another h1b petition with all docs like lca client letter it can work like extension or decrease in h1b period one of my friend in Toyota moved from ca to tx they filed for amendment his h1b period was cut short from 2 yrs validity to 1yr so it all depends on what uscis thinks based on documentation u submitted along with amendment

Yes. The date will be extended as per LCA. Just check with attorney once.

 I believe You can apply directly extn check with attorney

No Amendment will not considered as extension. 

If you have till end of 2024 you only get end of 2024.

@ANNA_PLEASE_PETTU - But my current h1b is expiring in may 2024 , which is 5 months from now.

you can apply. approve ayithe 3 years from approval date

there is nothing like amendment and extension .. two things separate not required. 

 

just one petition for both amendment and extenston

thanks @Aquaman ..  with this case , current h1b expiring in may 2024 .. did u see any one they got extended for 3 years?

yes .. i filed amendment  this year with 4 months left on H1b.. got 3 years approval

Is h4 and h4 ead approving same time as well ?

Anna amendment is one when the current h1b has some change like salary location etc etc if your petioner gas supporting documentation when yiu fiile amendment you will get 3 years no need to file extension again AFAIK good luck
