wall street doesnt buy houses directly...it buys mortgages (MBS)...and lot of institutions and instruments...invest on these MBS...like mostly pension fund is one example..

so if this rule comes it will be make a huge noise for some time...and also...blocking wallstreet from purchasing is not fair deal practice...(specially in capitalistic country...)...lot of investments may move out of USA...where they get more returns..

Investment companies do buy properties and manage them. They manage about 3% of the houses in USA so they are insignificant in raising house prices and they participate only in few markets. But yes they do buy with all cash down so people who need a mortgage might get left behind. 
 

the video is explaining what caused GFC but it is not completely accurate. Underwriting standards are much higher now and the investors no longer buy MBS because the house values are increasing.

Primary home konaledhu bro. I would definitely jump in when we find ideal home.  Too many things going on. Job search. Debating whether to move to fl or stay here.

fed interest rates thaggistham ani chepparu kada. So i think housing market will go up by 5-20% like any organic year or stay flat. I am talking just about bayarea. Too many people sitting on cash to jump in.
