India Passport expiring in 4 months, GC undhi ,

Passport expiring in 4 months i.e in May 2024, GC undhi , india ki poyi ravacha malli return with renewing the passport, planning to travel in Jan third week and planning to come back in Feb last week.

ledha aa 6 month rule applyu avtundha? for any international travel, passport has to be valid for at least 6 months ani?

That 6 month rule applies for any foreign country travel, not when going to india(on indian passport)

Re-issuance of Passport - Tatkal Service
'TATKAL' Passport Service is an 'Emergency' Passport Service. All applicants (except below-mentioned categories) residing in the USA and having valid Passport and Valid Visa Status (i.e., “Visa Page/EAD/Green Card/I-797A Approval Notice) are eligible to apply for re-issue of Passport under Tatkal Passport Scheme

Below the list of Category of applicants are not eligible to apply under Tatkal Passport Scheme:

Lost/ Stolen Passport/ Damaged beyond recognition
Renewal of Short Validity Passport (SVP)
Change in Name
Change in Sex
Change of Appearance (Minors can apply)
Change/ Correction of Date of birth
Change/ Correction of Place of birth
Change in Signature (Minors can apply)
Change of Father/ Mother's name

You don't really need to have a passport, when you are traveling with a GC. They might grill you more, but passport is not required for entry to the US, if you have a GC.

Thamari Bo.  why would you fall under this category? - Renewal of Short Validity Passport (SVP) 

A short validity passport is a passport that is issued to an Indian citizen for a short period of time.

Pretty sure you dont have an SVP. You can use Tatkal and renew here, as long as you apply a day before the current one expires.

Its always risky man. Its safe to have atleast 6 months validity. Indian pp expiration ki 1yr mundey renew cheyinchochu kada. Why dint u do it?
