Its not protecting an individual CBN kada... Its protecting an NDA partner...If they dont it will send a wrong signal to other partners in present and future...

I think more than anything CBN going with NDA is because he can stay safe from Jagan if he looses...

Exactly my point. It is a question of optics. If an opposition party can ride roughshod over an NDA partner - that only weakens the aura around Modi and Shah and I am pretty sure they won't let that happen.

And then remember TDP may also contribute to the MP seat count of NDA especially if the race gets a bit close at the center. 

Overall - CBN need not worry about any negative consequences as long as he is with NDA as an official alliance partner.
