BJP is wrong is not allowing women in Sabarimala, courts intervened and allowed women to go in. Congress is wrong in supporting Triple talaaq, good that it was abolished by the parliament. Muslims should not be allowed to have separate laws, the same way Hindus are not allowed to have separate laws. That's why Congress manifesto is wrong in exclusively encouraging minorities (Muslims) to have their own personal laws. Page 8, point 7. This point can be extended to establish Sharia law. I am not saying they will, but the language is allowing them to allow it.

Congress never supports triple talaq, Congress supported removal of triple talaq, it is very clear and loud

My point still stands, Government intervention in archiacal religious practices that are not good for the society should be encouraged. Religions shouldn't be allowed to have practices that condone social injustice.

It doesn't have to be barbaric for it to be abolished. It can simply be a social injustice, like women not being allowed to go to a temple in Hinduism or men being allowed to practice polygamy in Islam. Both are social injustices and need to be abolished.

Women were not allowed when menstruating. It was also agreed by women so they also follow it. It is still practiced in Sabarimala. Just like how it goes without saying that everyone who visits temple is assumed to have taken a bath. Purity of body & purity of mind. 

What is wrong is not allowing all women all the time. Even in Sabarimala, kids & older women  are allowed. 

 

Both are wrong. Polyandry is not common as polygamy. Polygamy is problematic because of social injustice to women. Same way women on their period being not allowed in temples. It is as much discrimination as not allowing dalits to temples. You saying women agree to it shows the ridiculousness in that argument. Do you really think women agree to wear a white saree when they become widows or not go to temples on their period? They do it because there are a lot of misconceptions associated with menstruation to prevent women entering temples. The same is the case with polygamy. It takes places because women do not have the social mobility due to the lack of economic freedom. Both are forms of social injustice associated with Hinduism and Islam and should be abolished.
