కానీ గుట్టలుగుట్టలుగా జనాభాతో పేరుకుపోయిన ఆధునిక భారతం లో ఓటు హక్కు గురించి, దాని సద్వినియోగం గురించి ఎంత మందికి అవగాహన ఉంది…

ఈ దేశం లో పుట్టాం కనుక ఎలాంటి అవగాహన లేకుండా కులం మతం ప్రాంతం భాష పేరుతో భాద్యతారాహిత్యంగా ఓటు వేసో… లేదా… ఫలానా వాడు మందు డబ్బులు ఇచ్చాడనో స్వార్దంగా ఓటు వేసో…. దేశం పైన  mob rule రుద్ది అదే democracy అనుకుంటున్నాం…

రోడ్డు మీద వాహనం నడపాలంటే driving test పాస్ అయ్యి driving license తెచ్చుకోవాలి….అలాగే vote వెయ్యడానికి voter common sense test లాంటిదేదైన ఉండి vote వేసే voting license ఉంటే బాగున్ను…ఇలాంటి undeserving mob rule  నుంచి తప్పించుకునే అవకాశాలు కొన్ని తగ్గుతాయి…

1. Any Govt whether Capitalist or Socialist/Communist will at some point step up to help its own people. Capitalist govts "empower" people ...where as Socialist/communist indulge in freebies but at the end of the day, govts spend money for the welfare of the people. So, every citizen at some point in their life time take govt's help. Be it poor or rich! 

2. Psycological test or anything similar would violate at least half a dozen constitutional rights/civil liberties. 

3. Raising voter age from 18 to 25 is a good idea as many people would have already entered work force by then....35 to 40 seems preposterous & an unrealistic idea!

Poor and uneducated people are considered under privileged and are mostly the ones that need government support.. if you take away their voting power, they will remain poor and uneducated for decades..

India’s literacy rate was around 10% when we got independence and now after decades of government support In uplifting the poor people, it is now around 80%.. 

poverty rates were 80-90% at the time of independence and is now less than 15%.. all this improvement is bcoz the political parties need the poor people votes.. 

if poor people don’t vote, political parties don’t have an incentive to take care of the poor.. 

But I am against these DBT schemes where the poor are given money every month or year for their spending.. instead they should get good education, job opportunities, low interest loans, housing, etc..

Democracy is not a magic bullet, it's just a better system among existing ones. Any system will be flawed because end of day people are flawed. If you read federalist papers you'll understand this very much. Minimal govt is the key which even most educated don't get.
