Reddy, SC, ST, Muslim, and Christian are major vote bank for YSRCP, which is 38.7% TDP was a BC party but over the decade it is losing its BC voter for example, Yadav, padmashali, and Gouds shifted towards Ysrcp. Which add 13.3% of vote share. YSRCP now has about 51% vote percentage. rest of the voters vote for TDP which is 36%+ 13% of kapu’s. here is the winning factor. if Kapus are 100% voting to TDP+JSP then it’s a definite win, if not it is going to be a marginal win for YSRCP. Lesson for TDP: either they loose or win marginally. never loose your vote bank, it should clean up its image as a part of Kammas.. see below for Guntur and Krishna. Social polarization between YSRCP and TDP. https://www.eenadu.net/politics/ap-assembly-elections-candidates-list-2024/4 https://www.eenadu.net/politics/ap-assembly-elections-candidates-list-2024/713 reddy - 8.5% , Kamma - 8%, Raju - 1.75 %, Arya Vysa - 2.5%, Brahmin - 2.25% Kapu/Naidu - 4.5 % , Telaga - 2.5%, Balija Naidu - 3 % - Total OC Kapu 10% (Toatal Kapu population including BC Turpu Kapu is 13 %) Hindu BC are 35% of population major castes among bc’s are Yadav/Kuruba - 7%, Settibalija/Goud - 3.25%, Valmiki/Boya - 3%, padmashali - 3%, Turpu Kapu - 3%, Velama ( In AP they come under BC) - 2.5% Agni kula kshtriya - 2.5%. Rajaka/Chakalli/Dhobi - 2.25 % viswakarma - - 2 % vaddaraju/Vaddera - 1.75 % All other bc castes have minor populations around 1 % or less of the population. SC are around 17.2 % of population -( Around 80% are Converted christian but officailly listed as hindu) Mala - 9.5 %, Madiga - 7% remaining percentage is other sc castes like relli, Adi dravida etc. Religious minorities are officially 9.5 % of population Muslim - 8.2 % Christian - 2.5 %- ( The majority of SC’s in Coastal Andhra are Converted Christians but are officially listed as Hindus to be eligible for reservation benefits. So the real christian population is between 15 to 16%) ST population 5.3 % and made up of bunch of different tribes like yerukala, Yanadi, Banjara, Konda dhora, Bagata, Koya etc. Of these the yanadi are the largest and makeup around 1.25 percentage of State population.
