D80 will not fit in $500 budget ....

What u need is good lens ..... Wildlife photography lo u have to take snaps from long distance kadha .......

dont get the rebel XS, adi bagodu.. get the rebel XS-i
and dont go behind the megapixels. 10MP are more than enough... i have the T2i, which is a 18MP. and i find nothing outstanding about it. i wud take the D90 (12 MP) above the T2i anyday. and the image quality depends ONLY on the lens you have, NOT on the body. Get a GOOD lens. and a decent body. LENSES are here to stay, not the bodies. for 500$ get the XS-i or Nikon D5000

and lens ante it depends, on ur budget. cheapest ZOOM lens ante get the 55-250 ot 75-300mm lens (canon)
