He is creating so much confusion. He should stick to one rhetoric. There are negotiations happening over the phone on a daily basis with Mexico , Canada, companies etc. I am not posting purely on Trump support...but on logic. We had Biden who didn't know what he was signing....kept sending money to Ukraine without trying to negotiate with Russia. But noone on this forum had posts like these on Biden. Now we have multiple posts on Trump on daily basis. Do you think that its fair? Quote

It's all about how it affects us personally. If Trump gives me 30% earnings in next 6 months, I will admire Trump for his knack with economy. But as of now, he got me into a riddle wherein I have 25% unrealized gains vanished in 45 days. What choice do I have? Quote

Trump isn't responsible for your short and narrow minded thinking. So, instead of complaining, try to understand whats going on .... because the major issue you have is with yourself. In stock market, you need to be invested long term. If you invested on speculated companies or took too much margin, its purely on you. 1 Quote

You need to get out of your high horse bro. If you love Trump, that’s your choice. Do you even know what kind of stocks I have in portfolios. Almost 70% of my investments are in blue chip stocks such as Meta, Nvidia and Walmart. Anyways, stop personal attacks. If you want to have an objective discussion that’s cool. human1234 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Trump wants to use tariffs tax money to give billionaires tax cut. Tariffs will be coming sooner or later. Fiscal deficit of USA is whopping 37% to revenue. Trump has no choice if he has to give tax cuts to billionaires or he should not worry about the increasing debt. I hope I am wrong. From Canada Less than 1% of fentanyl comes but still he is going for tariffs on Canada. What a dumb president Quote
Ravi860 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Till this tariff stuff is over.. market will keep going down. Dip will keep getting bigger and bigger 1 Quote

You would invest more on dips...or if you don't have cash, you would just not look at your portfolio. Its not a loss until you sell. But you are going through emotional rollercoaster and trying to take everyone on this forum on that ride. Its crystal clear from your posts.....that you don't have much experience or emotional maturity to be an investor. I am all for fair and logical discussion.....but not up for tolerating nonsense. Am actually better from other seasoned investors...I am confronting you and letting you know about the truth so that you can improve. Many others have probably ignored you and your childish posts with pity. Quote
andhra_jp Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Are Stocks a Sure Thing Over the Long Term? Not Necessarily While it doesn’t occur frequently, U.S. stocks, as well as international markets, have produced losses over 10- and 20-year periods, research shows Edward McQuarrie, a Santa Clara University professor, recently extended the data on U.S. stock returns all the way back to 1792. He used prices and dividends found in newly digitized newspapers to compute the returns. McQuarrie found that while 10-year losses in U.S. stocks occur infrequently, they do occur, including in the 120 months ended in February 2009 when they lost a total of 37.4%. Other 10-year periods of U.S. stock losses occurred in the 120 months ended in September 1974, August 1939, June 1921, October 1857 and April 1842. The losses in those periods ranged from 23% to 37.3%. These are losses in real terms, adjusted for inflation. McQuarrie identified several periods of 20-year losses, as well. Those periods included a 13.9% loss in the 240 months ended in June 1932, an 8.8% loss in the 240 months ended in October 1857 and a 4.7% loss in the 240 months ended in June 1921. Quote
