Celebration of harvest is tied to growing season. Canada celebrates thanks giving one month before US for the same reason. 

Krishna, Godavari deltas are fertile regions that grow three crops in an year and therefore has more growing season compared to hinterland Telangana.

The Rabi season in Andhra delta areas also grow record amount of Paddy. Tilling and Sowing activities extend till December. That's why celebration is pushed to Mid-January. 

Andhra farmers  are very meticulous in tilling. Even Nizam invited them to the nizamsagar area to till the land.
