Basic accommodation cost $200 - $250 per night for families.

Food is expensive - A lamb soup can cost $20, , if planning for a month, I recommend cooking some meals at home.

car rental per day costs same as USA but insurance might add up and I 100% recommend to take full insurance due to weather and some gravel roads.

Visiting places doesn't costs much as most are natural attractions except paid parking at the attractions.

Flight tickets are cheaper from east coast and also shorter journey (~ 6 hrs)

Lowest is

200+200+200+100 total 700/day

per month 21k plus flights

Unless you are a US citizen, Schengen visa is needed to visit EU region. Processing time varies by the country or the Embassy you apply at. On an average, It shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks.

The costs really add up, especially when you start factoring in things like food and accommodation. We ended up spending around $250 per night on a decent but simple place to stay. If you're looking to save on meals, definitely consider cooking at least a few times, as eating out can get pricey.

If you're planning to stay in a city like Brisbane before or after your Iceland trip, I’d suggest looking into a brisbane cbd hotel for a convenient spot near all the action. It's a solid option if you're looking to be close to key attractions and public transport without breaking the bank.

Roads single road lane road-- Unless around  capital city Reykjavík its pretty much single lane road.
Traffic non existent, but be careful while driving, should avoid night time driving at all costs one this it gets very dark unless you are traveling in summer months but if you are traveling to chase northern lights you normally travel in winter.

Airbnb vuntundii but in the cities; other places it gets little expensive.
