BoC did a rate cut already. If Fed doesn't cut by as much and BoC keeps cutting more, loonie will be weakend further. What that means is those that don't own a house will bleed by paying extra for day to day living in terms as transactions of imports are tied to USD. This is just another inflation without calling it one. Even then there is no guarantee that housing may go into highs again. With reduced immigration, demand may weaken in rentals, those that purchased second houses on mortgages will struggle to keep up with payments by renewal. Overall except for stable markets like Ottawa, boom prices may crash partially and plateau in other areas. If coupled with higher number of constructions, as Pierre says the prices could correct even more. But the living costs are going to be a bummer for those that earn in CAD and spend in USD (as the imports are in USD) in Canada @papampasivaadu will have to do another job. Quote

Government spends $$ it doesn't have --> Gives it away to Corps + Corruption --> Inflation --> RE goes up--> People buy stupid mortgages Same story in Canada, Australia, UK, Canada and India. Why do you think Dora borrowed lakhs of crores? Why do you think Baboru is borrowing a lot? Why do you think Modi Tatah printed 1 trillion INR? MIDDLE CLASS is happy to be raped globally. Govt. Rapes them, then corps join the orgy. Rest is all theatre. Quote

Many of them are struggling to find a decent job forget demanding salaries. It is a bells and whistles situation for Corps. They can avoid raising salaries saying many others available to do the job. Problem with desk jobs is most of the job is SOP or process driven and less peraon driven. So, it doesn't matter. You can always be replaced. This makes people scared about demanding a raise. If you're a doctor or a welder even though you have a process the job is more person dependent and therefore can demand more. Quote
