I earn around what a full-time employee typically makes in Canada, as reported by the government. While my income isn't exceptionally high, I'm content with it, as I don't have to pay exorbitant amounts for health insurance and dental care—these are covered by the government.

 

I live in a place where I can drink water straight from the tap without concern and enjoy some of the cleanest air in the world

Don't trust the water part. Suggest buy a water filter system. Canadian metro water has high contamination of hormones , prescription drugs, and fluoride.
