Many Universities silently adding number of 1 year stem qualified programs and dumping OPT students into market. The first year of opt they can work unpaid. Employers are replacing dead wood old employees with fresh opt from top universities, they are willing to work without pay just for experience and maintaining status. 
 

The pigeon holed, single trick pony, old foreign workers with families, can never compete with these top students, before even considering the facts that they are unpaid and willing to work 80-90 hours a week.

I met a student in one of the 1 year stem program. It is new program, 90% class from india, everyone with  iit btech and 3-5 year work experience.

That’s ok baa…let them go . But can your company sponsor h1 after a year or 2 for that opt guy?
