Na friend circle lo most of them came to US 15+ years ago. None of them received green card and all of them has 2014-2016 priority dates. As time progressed most of us progressed including me to senior manager to senior director roles. E last 5 years lo most of them bought good single family homes and some 1-3 investment homes too, some got appreciated and some got depreciated.

Some were able to get good returns in stock market and some lost almost $100 to 200k. Everyone took it maturely and handled losses or gains equally and we never had concerns about finding new roles due to technical and leadership skills. Idhi kakapothe inkoti annatu unde.. But in the last 3 months I am noticing this.

1. anxiety for everyone is increased.

2. Every one including me has become low energy, impatient and health being impacted

3. fear of loosing job is increasing due to the instability. Evarni adigina oka 3 months okay, 6 months okay antunaru kani nobody is saying we are okay for this year or next year. Full time has become more like contracting

4. concern about can we get a new role in 60 days since all of them are in leadership roles and getting jobs in leadership roles is time taking and most of them do not offer h1 transfer. Finding contract roles is difficult because of the leadership roles experience in last 5 years.

5. fear about losses or difficulties in selling primary home and investment homes if we have to go back

6. thinking about kids future

living in India or US is a personal Personal choice but the problem here is 60 days rule is making everyone anxious and stressed. LinkedIn open cheyali antae bayam veysthundhi, too many people in market and since we are in leadership roles we get atleast 2-3 requests each week asking for any open roles. Every weekend idhae discussion from past 10 to 12 weeks. Everyone is tired, and stressed, coz it took long to built this career and thought this is the place where we can raise our kids, we expand our careers, we made good friends and relationships but day by day it’s getting worst reading social media or news about how unstable place US has become. Just wondering how are you handling it?

Disaster situation for eh okati

I know a lot of things like policy changes, job market are not in our hands

but I'm trying the following

  • applying to suitable jobs ( absolutely no calls, attended a bunch of interviews and even got an offer in Nov, regretting not taking it now as job market is actually insane now, profile great match aina no calls ante not sure whats going on ), I think the bar is too high as a lot of faang+ folks are in market due to layoffs, also noticing less open positions overall in the market compared to Q4 last year due to the AI hype
  • Upskiling on what I'm working on, learning stuff related to job so that I do well in interviews
  • Improving health (exercise 5 days/week to reduce stress, vitamin d at least a few days/week, eating well by increasing protein, reducing carbs/sugar as much as I can with out too much effort)

I still have fear about job uncertainty, 60 day period and loans etc as the others but those things are not much in my hands right now, can't do much except for moving forward so trying to do other things to improve life

Top univ have funds. They don’t let their  students work with in campus leave outside.
ut Dallas is one more dabba univ

again, as i said...you clearly sound like you haven't done masters here...you have no clue about what you are talking...

it's true that top uni's have funds but there are only a limited number of TA,RA and GA positions...eventually few of them will be left out and have to resort to offcampus to survive..

Usually people think you need to do phd to get into eb1 category. The point here is to mention that .

Yes...the vast majority of them have phds...the cases you are mentioning are the exceptions, not the rule...chala takkuva percentage untaaru nuvvu chupinchina example type

that's not true...maybe 20 yrs back situation might be different...or maybe you enrolled in phd program...

nowadays, there's not such thing as guaranteed funding..even Harvard, MIT you have to pay full fees...

With more students graduating, next gen ABCDs, native students and citizens with tech knowledge increasing and no. of jobs decreasing every year it is only going to become more harder.

Better to have flexible mind(to settle here or India) unless you have a GC and stop thinking about things which are out of your hands and focus on your skillset/money generating things. I am in the same boat came to US in 2007 and PD 2015 ending No hopes of GC

Thumb rule - Never have a mindset of settling down here unless you have a GC(better to prepare kids accordingly)

2007 lo vachi nene worst pd anukuna..monatidhaka..u crossed me 2015 ante... any reason u left it for last ??

Ne yavva handle em undi. Inni rojulu ela sagindi atla sagipodame. Dhevudni nammukovale ayana etu teskapote atu vellali. Tension padte em ostadi, boodida. Health karab aytadi.

what we can do is we will do anyway. Have fun, be consistent, stay happy and healthy.
This goes to all Telugu ppl - Be less greedy in your lives and most of our problems will go away.

manager position ki kastame.

never leave technical skill edo okati nerchuko sharpen your skills as you gain experience.

if you keep diverting your mind and your position you will perish in this competitive world.

A lot and lot of young hungry youth keep coming in millions in your skill and you have to constantly compete with them.
