This is madness....property taxes serve a purpose...they contribute towards roads, police and other services....and only property owners pay them...

If they remove property taxes and increase income or sales taxes to compensate, then poor and middle class will be pissed off

Especially public schools and local parks are funded by property taxes

Taxes have to come in some form or the other...property tax, inheritance tax, GST, income tax, capital gains...okati taggisthe inkokati peruguddhi

Agree, these won't happen. The proposal has merit, but unless they come up with a plan to fund schools, police, and fire depts, it's nonsense. 

There should be some cap on the property taxes though. Property prices have skyrocketed. What is being done with all the surplus?
