SU-57 will be the preferred alternative given the existing working relationship India has with RU...

If you sign a contract and tried to back out later, you will have to pay penalty charges. It's all a speculation for now. Some or other way India will have to buy some US military hardware totalling to the same amount if not F35. Without making Indian Govt. shelling monies, Tatah will not back off.

american transport planes are good...I guess India has some...also their navy surveillance planes (p8?) are good...maybe India should buy those to placate thatha rather than F35s...

I'm not saying buying from US is bad...buying stuff where there is no tech transfer is not a great idea especially when there are alternatives..

Yes that's true.  India has P8s and  Boeing globe masters as well. India also has apache helicopters. 

F35 isn't a dog fighter. It's not an interceptor. It doesn't fit Indian airforce needs. F15 fits better though.

My gut tells me somehow  India will buy Gripen from Sweden from Cost and Tech transfer perspective. Also, buying in bulk will result in fat commissions paid to purchasing officers, ministers and brokers involved in the deal. They can conveniently push Kaveri on back pedestal again.

Modi Tatah is still doing behind the screen deliberations. With Su 57, Russia is also not keen to transfer the tech. They didn't allow Indian tech guys to access the sensitive tech during joint development expertise. That's why India backed out. But from a cost perspective Su 57 will be more cheaper to buy and HAL is already familiar with Russian designs and maintenance.

ToT : Grippen, Rafel, Lockheed Martin and Sukhoi offered ToT, but we not interested in the models they offered back then…

MRCA : Tender is still open for 114 jets, rafaels are bought as immediate need and fill the gap. Infact the DCA has upgraded its tender and set the bar higher for technical specification. Rumour is that earlier specs were put in place to favor Russia’s UAC.

Modi reduced jets from 120-114: No, both are different. 
 

Cost triple : Because only the hardware is Dassault but comfiguration is completely Indian, designed in India plus the weapons. Hence the cost rise..We learn after our mistakes with buying 300 odd planes ..MIRAGE 2000’s in late 80’s and Su-30 MKI’s.

LCA….Thanks to American Sanctions. Three times in the history, we have ti build a new air frame without any tech transfer. Still, LCA is flying.

Even today, LCA is delayed by engines not being supplied by GE Aviation and you know who controls them…

MRCA requirement is different…LCA primarily helps with reconnaissance where as MRCA need is air superiority. LCA vunte MRCA avasaram vundadu anukunte okay.

C-130 konnaru…I think 12 of them…heavy lift transport…

Apart from that, Poseidon p8 12 in possession already and inkoka 8 wanted to order but last minute la they have included Make In India clause so chudali emaitado…
