I think Insurance companies abandoned that beach houses and many have to refinance their ARM loans at higher rates. Hence the panic started.

Texas and California is in serious trouble anna.. 

more inventory and more price reductions in coming months.

Home builders offering big discounts and people started buying again (Interest rates also dipping) ...  They are not realizing its just the beginning. The end of the year will see a significant price fall. Esp existing homes started coming just now. Price drops will start soon. 

Mature markets do not have to worry much. Mostly remote areas that appreciated 2-3 times in the past 5 yrs should drop.

Dallas city kadaa ... You have to consider individual areas .. 

For e.g. SanRamon/Dublin/Pleasanton considered mature markets in East Bay. Tracy and Mountain House considered remote areas (too far) which went up only coz the prices are cheaper there ...

Anything beyond Frisco is remote .. Even Frisco is considered semi-remote. Areas with good school districts should hold the prices better
