My view; If so many people qualify for the visa, it won't remain an "extraordinary visa" anymore, right? After all, USCIS claims it’s the most highly selective visa available. The current coaching trend seems to focus on these points, they created an industry around these to make money. Publishing in Journals: Coaches often push for publishing in journals, mostly lower quality cause real research takes time, and there’s no guarantee that people can publish without rigorous standards. Even business-related articles are not easy to get published without strong quality. Getting Citations: most tactics use creating fake ResearchGate profiles with no real content, just listing paper titles of these paid articles. Google Scholar indexes ResearchGate and many no name journals, and since it doesn’t require peer review, it can artificially inflate citation counts. Many PhDs know what it takes to get cited by quality articles. Judging Hackathons: Coaches suggest getting involved in judging hackathons which is not really hard and similar events as a way to boost credibility. Memberships: they suggest joining professional organizations like BCS, IET, IEEE Senior Member, etc. However, these memberships often don’t require extraordinary achievements. Paid or “No-Name” Awards: These awards are often seen as packages that come with a PR article. Industry professionals usually don’t recognize these awards; they’re mainly pushed on platforms like LinkedIn, where people tend to boast without much scrutiny (unlike on Reddit, X, etc.). Paid Media: Traditional, organic articles written by journalists are hard to get and take time. Journalists won’t usually write about someone without a compelling reason, so the rise of paid media, often featuring random tech figures, became a shortcut to exposure. Even C-suite executives aren’t often interviewed unless there's something new or notable. don’t fall for this fake (like EB1A experts) profile building companies and loose hard earned money.. Quote

imhott Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 @Undilaemanchikalam sure I have a PhD from a top-10 university globally. 1500+ citations, 50+ publications mostly in top-tier conferences, 16 patents, few published articles in esteemed journals. Now working as a scientist in a research lab. Reached out to few attorneys for initial evaluation, chose one and went with the petition. Approved within 7-8 months. Quote
DonnyStrumpet Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Unless you have a PhD from a good university, don’t worry about it. You need publications as well as good amount of citations. Quote
