rightly said and logically it makes sense to rent, but people hardly think rationally when it comes to housing

given the hyper growth our cities had in the last 2 decades where people saw multiple times return on investment, I feel people will still continue to invest in housing assuming it appreciates

I think it may not be hyper growth but it will still appreciate better for may be another 10-15 years post which the inflation will cool down drastically as well as the growth due to population stabilization, gdp growth returning to normal 3-4 % and other factors

I for one would prefer to FD/invest in index funds and chill, but democratic compulsions (like wife, parents etc) could compel one to buy/invest in real estate

10-12c FD would return 60-72 lakhs, may not be an awesome amount but can still lead super chill life in cities like Hyd and Bengaluru

FD is good.. but, inflation catches up and this money may not worth after certain time (10+ years).. some of it should be in inflation proof assets.
