Most of the energy is spent on industrial sector, then on farming. Both get it at a subsidized rate, with latter even being given it for free. As usual the whip lash is geared towards salaried cattle class.

Can power distribution infrastructure handle this? We need mini power grids at each city/ district, power produced from renewable sources mainly Solar. Without that, there is no way the existing infrastructure can sustain.

They should also mandate organ donation on death. It would help lot of people.

People are too stupid to have lot of freedom. If they don't like it, they can go live on a mountain or something.
