Did you review the downpour metrics in the same time period in various parts of the city? Secondly, I understand what caused the stagnation. But my question was why should a "world class" city design in such a way? installation of bigger pipes doesn't come with continuous operational costs. So, why? If you grew up in the city, tell me if you heard about water stagnation in Hyderabad during the 90s or early 2000s? All we heard about is floods near lower tank bund or musi because of the encroachments. We never heard such water clogging on the roads. Please post i have not seen. Flyovers are designed keeping in mind about storm water for certain time period like 20 years, 100 years etc, they dont consider the extreme situation like cloud bursts. Cloud bursts are extermely difficult to predict and design based on it. May be they will do it in future. Quote

Sare baa, neede correct anukundam. Can you tell me the design specifications of the current system? How much of a cloud burst can they support? Give me a metric for drainage capability. Quote

Looks at my previous posts about the waste. Its the one of the major concerns for flooding. See indian road congress book and you will find what is consider for the drainage of a fly over. They consider short term storm water data, not the cloud burst data because it is unpredictable. I dont know may be will consider in future. https://pwd.mizoram.gov.in/uploads/attachments/08b1c6d7df31a927ed3b616d49b42e31/irc-sp-0422014-guidelines-for-road-drainage.pdf Quote
