on paper it is true. but the monetary and fiscal policy is driven by the actions of the govt. If the nation's currency has less power to be traded on the global market - isn't the govt playing a role in that?

Currency is another commodity that is sold and bought like anything else. We trade it away for oil and imports that causes it to weaken and we don't export as much in comparison(we don't produce much for country of our size). As long as this continues nothing will change. Complete tear down of our institutions need to happen but it won't  by any govt. BJP everyone thought would but it's just another version of congress.
