భారత్‌ లాంటి బలమైన మిత్రుడితో బంధాన్ని తెంచుకోవద్దంటూ అమెరికా అధ్యక్షుడు డొనాల్డ్ ట్రంప్ కు నిక్కీ హేలీ హితవు పలికారు. భారత సంతతికి చెందిన నిక్కీ హేలీ సౌత్ కరోలినా రాష్ట్రానికి గవర్నర్ గా సేవలందించారు. రిపబ్లికన్ నేత అయిన హేలీ.. గతేడాది జరిగిన అధ్యక్ష ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీ కోసం ప్రయత్నించారు. అయితే, చివరకు బరిలో నుంచి తప్పుకొని ట్రంప్ కు మద్దతిచ్చారు.

రష్యా నుంచి చమురు కొనుగోలు చేస్తూ యుద్ధానికి పరోక్షంగా సాయపడుతోందంటూ భారత్ పై ట్రంప్ అక్కసు వెళ్లగక్కుతున్నారు. చమురు కొనుగోళ్లు ఆపకుంటే భారీ మొత్తంలో టారిఫ్ లు విధిస్తానని హెచ్చరించారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో నిక్కి హేలీ స్పందిస్తూ.. భారత్ లాంటి బలమైన మిత్రుడితో విభేదాలు వద్దని ట్రంప్ కు హితవు పలికారు. 

రష్యా నుంచి చమురు కొనుగోలు చేసే దేశాలలో భారత్ కంటే చైనానే ముందు ఉంటుందని గుర్తుచేశారు. అలాంటి చైనాపై విధించిన టారిఫ్ లకు 90 రోజుల విరామం ప్రకటించిన ట్రంప్.. భారత్ పై మాత్రం టారిఫ్ ల మీద టారిఫ్ లు విధిస్తాననడం సరికాదని హేలీ అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. ‘రష్యా నుంచి భారత్‌ చమురు కొనుగోలు చేయకూడదు కానీ, చైనా చేయొచ్చా?’ అంటూ హేలీ ఎక్స్‌ వేదికగా పోస్టు పెట్టారు.
