This is because, Baboru thought NTR was a naive guy as Harikrishna was. He got him tied off to Narne family's who are related to Baboru to keep him on his side. 

But NTR came across as an ambitious guy. He created his own lobby group within Telugu Desham with Vallabhaneni, Kodali. He even got Kodali nani ticket when Baboru refused him to be given a ticket in 2009, if I recall correctly. So, Baboru got upset and  "visionary" in him started to gauge future with caution. He now saw NTR as a direct threat to MAALOKAM, and started to sideline NTR soon after the latter met with an accident. This was all when he was in opposition still. 

Not many in Nandamuri family like NTR as he was born out of wedlock. Back then they used to say, her mom was a Moslem, but then it changed to kannada Brahmin may be a cover up? Or that's the reality I don't know.

NTR too moved strings quickly. His close associates moved to YCP. While sulking seniors like Buchiah Chowdari still support NTR, can't go against MAALOKAM when Baboru is in power.

It’s just yellow media and chemba politics , most kammas used to support and still are supporting. May be 10% are exclusive loki/CBN. Picha lite ivanni, now he is making good movies , future lo undhi game , Ippudu honestly this don’t matter ,NTR has fandom irrespective of caste dynamics
