You can use your driver license to board flights within USA.  Only domestic travel. 
No need to carry your passport

Yes, everyone needs RealID. It is law, you can only board flights with Real ID or you have to use passport. 
 

if you plan to use your state driver's license for domestic flights within the U.S. after May 7, 2025, you need a REAL ID-compliant license, which is typically marked with a star at the top

Some states require real id.... If not you will have to carry passport even for domestic travel

Depends on State.  In TX everyone gets REAL ID Drivers License by default. If you cannot show immigration status then you do not get Drivers License/ID.

Washington doesnt give real id to immigrants whereas some states will give to immigrants like texas..you can use ead instead for domestic travel

There are at least three states that do not provide a REAL ID to certain noncitizens:

• Colorado (only citizens and legal permanent residents can apply for a REAL ID)
• Kentucky (only citizens and legal permanent residents can apply for a REAL ID)
• Washington State (only citizens can apply for an enhanced ID)
