America is India's largest export market for pharmaceutical goods. In FY 24, of India's $27.9 billion worth of pharma exports, 31 per cent or $8.7 billion (Rs 7,72,31 crore) went to the US, according to the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India, an industry body. Another $3.7 billion (Rs 32,505 crore) worth of pharma products were exported in just the first half of 2025.

Nah, it's not happening in generics. Generics is a race to bottom as it's rules by Syndicate of limited buyers such as Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and Costco. Gone are the early 2000s.

Ippudu Tatah cheppedhi Patented drugs. They can using API, to bulk blend stage outside USA and still do finished like last 5-25% of steps in the US. Even if they decide to manufacture them entirely in the US, I think they don't loose as much if they have exclusivity.
