I felt that h1 fee has more to it. First restrictions on new petitions including transfers and new lottery.

sometime next year expand to renewals as well. companies might have asked one year time to cut existing H1b employees and prepare for upcoming changes. Hence they exempted renewals for now.

all companies already started hiring freeze of non-immigrants and will slowly cut down existing h1 through firing or losing to attrition.

Both senators are very seniors from either sides of the aisle. This is not good. This seems like an only issue where Dems and repubs are in unison. 
 

Companies are directly targeted and asked for responses. In the view of public backlash with this exposure most companies will back off from future hiring. That’s my opinion.
