Recent many articles claim a lab could turn mercury to gold with nuclear fusion 

 

what happens to world economies if that becomes a mass production as all countries weigh their economies against gold 

 

or

 

is a wild theory by USA so that countries will not trust gold and move into crypto

Nuclear fusion is the more expensive than gold....gold is secondary unwanted by-product in small quantities. That's it
