Lot of db folks who work on Amazon add some light on this topic

Spoke to a friend who works in Amazon.

According to her, they are asking everyone to report amount of  AI usage at work.

They have some state of art AI tools now that does 30% of job. Amazon is encouraging employees to use AI to generate playbooks.

Their aim is to remove 30% of employees in IT by end of the year.

Mostly QA jobs.

Almost every company requires employees to start using AI. New goals are being added, like "How are you using AI at work and automating your day-to-day work?".

Working as contractor (Senior Dev & Tech Lead) in one of the big public sectors of the UK.

Recently joined. The perm employees of the Organisation (who are other wise called as Civil servants) are given everything to get set to use AI.

Obviously as Sarkari naukris, most of them do not know how to use, BUT a good number of them are really mastering everything including the CODING - which is worrying me.

They are even questioning every aspect of programming. Not ready to take whatever suggestions/recommendations developers are giving..

I remember 5 years ago, most of them do not know even how to handle CSV sheets..

definitely worrying..

And even more dangerous thing:

before AI, a senior Scala/Haskell developer was offered £600-£700 a day but now the rates are dropped... the reason? The existing programmers of CapG, Accenture & CGI are encourgaed to learn new PLs using AI tools.

The rates have now dropped to £350-400

Best for freshers is to go to research side. A.I/Ml researchers from top schools are being paid on the same levels as highest paid doctor like derm, neuro, ortho in the u.s.

Or try to work on A.I related  projects before A.I field gets saturated.

When you say UK employee or UK Shitizen....you must clearly specify:

1. Naturalised Porkis

2. Naturalised B'desis

3. Naturalised North Indians (Gujju + Punjabi)

4. Naturalised South Indians (Sambhar, Telugu, Mallu & k'taka)

5. Naturalised SriLankans

6. Naturalised Africans (some 50 countries)

7. Naturalsied carribeans (those left at Liverpool while exporting from Africa to USA)

8. EU Citizens (comprising Spanish, Italian, French and other 30 EU nations)

9. Naturalised ones from the countries other than the above 8 groups

Plus

10. Some minority whom we still call as White Britons.

Amongst the above, the one which are talking might be No.8 as generally Spanish & Eastern European citizens demonstrate high levels of arrogance
