funny how anyone can defend privatising govt hospitals.. even the so called middle or upper middle class in India are 2 hospital bills away from poverty.. instead of pushing or fighting for better accountability in govt hospitals if you have concerns , people fighting for making them private..

sheep selecting wolf as the leader type lo undi idi..

It's because they think they're covered by insurance policies. Most people on this DB don't know that most of the famous private hospitals in India are bought by Private Equities from the US and Canada.

PE's modus operandi is always jacking up service prices, while cutting down costs in personnel, it doesn't always translate to better care, but rather the opposite. So far, they're able to get the monies from government reimbursements, but If the price increases keep affecting the policy premiums for the employee class, then will feel the pinch.

This is already seen in schooling. First employee class felt private schools are better than government schools. Partly true, because governments particularly Baboru and co. And Dora in TG ,neglected govt. Spending on education. Now, pvt. Schools are sodomizing middle class and even upper middle class with fees, parents have no option but to pay, just to maintain that supposed standard of living, despite knowing the fact they're being robbed.

Huh? Any given day, if new institutions of higher learning are opened by government, they are always in demand. JNTU Ananthapur NIRF ranking lo eppudu 200 lopu untadhi. Sure, it's not a premium institute. 200 lopu ante there are HUNDREDS OF Engineering Colleges that rank less than that in Andhra and Telangana that are run by Private Sector.

Medical colleges kooda same to same. Srikakulam, lo kooda govt medical college undhi, danini slective ga NRI/vza colleges tho compared chesthunnav, but Andhra Medical college vadilesav endhuku?

Laggy kadhu adhi, political will lekapovadam anthe. Andhina kadiki prabhutva aasthulu ammeydam tappa Baboru chesindhi em ledhu. Jagan started them even with corona for about 2 years of his reign. PPP tappa government run cheyyaledhu ani Baboru noti tho chepthe avvadhu (aa noru Nijam matladithe, head 1000 pieces avthadhi), edhaina cost benefit assessment report release chesara? Public commentary emaina undha? As usual unilateral decision ee adhi.

System paralysis is always due to "lack of political will", not the otherway around.

wow comparing andhra medical college(1923) established by British taken over after independence to RIMS srikakulam(2008)......why no political will its because people elect leaders who offer freebies (all parties), elect leaders who promise instant benefit rather real value.

"PPP tappa government run cheyyaledhu ani Baboru noti tho chepthe avvadhu (aa noru Nijam matladithe, head 1000 pieces avthadhi), edhaina cost benefit assessment report release chesara? Public commentary emaina undha? As usual unilateral decision ee adhi. "  agree with these points. This is where any gov should improve decision making and transparency.

In large democracies any decision good or bad will be opposed for the sake of opposing.

" computerlu koodu pedathaya" " roadlu koodu pedathaya" famous statements form previous goverment.

Baboru nene visionary ane ahankaram(dictatorial), jag ki echeedi nene, aadhukunedi nene ahankaram .......evarini evaru aadhukunedi...people gave them an opportunity to do common good.  Its a tight balance between vision  and socialism. .

if the private player dosen`t get profits they back off as we saw in hyd metro, the gov will take over. if gov runs these 10 med schools we`ll keep hearing " sari aina vasathulu leka avasthalu paduthunna vidyarthulu" in news, students protest somebody visits them, temporary fund allocation. i studied in goverment college unless they have legacy, strong alumni or donors its a slow process.  i hope to see what happens tomorrow.

If Previous Govt has secured permissions to build 17 Medical colleges, why is the current Govt adamant on not completing and instead hand over to Private people?

This will be a great benefit for students aspiring to be doctors. People will benefit from the medical services too.

Hope alliance realizes the grave they are digging into by doing PPP. It will be shame if they claim they don’t have funds to complete the construction of 10 hospitals while claiming to build a world class capital.

Same Govt wants to build a 300 FT statue of NTR but shows empty pockets for Hospitals.

NRI Guntur had ahead start not by much and is a bigger establishment when compared to srikakulam's medical college. Even then, Srikakulam medical college is not that bad. Going by cut off it's better than Rajahmundry's GSL.

Andhra state budget is  about 300,000 crore INR. You don't even need more than 10,000 crore INR to invest in medical college and their infrastructure. The returns on public education and infrastructure will always come back to the government. As I said all it takes is political will.

Baboru's PPP model is throwing away rights to land and reimbursements for these hospitals. In terms of burden to the state exchequer, these costs alone will exceed 10,000 crore budget allotments. This is not socialism. Jagan's  government never objected to establishment of private enterprises.  Anyone can establish a medical college and /or a hospital in Andhra provided you get your approvals. This is "NEO LIBERALISM".

Regarding computers and roads, I don't know who made those statements. Jagan himself has advocated use of tech in schools. His Nadu Nedu schools is all about giving public sector schools an upgrade. Roads is one aspect where Jagan government lagged. I don't deny this part. I don't see roads being improved by Current government as well though.

Yeah, last year I drove to Rajahmundry from Hyderabad when I was in India. The bridge was horrible and shaky. It's damaged for far too long. I don't know when they will fix it. Roads are like another Polavaram money minting project.
