We cannot say the same for other alternatives like Atlanta (5% state tax) and Dallas (same rate of property tax as FL), winter and summer is severe when compared to FL. Quote

Since you're planning to move to SWFL Just want to remind you that June 1 to Nov 30 - Hurricane season (every year) This year we are lucky to not have any hurricanes. 1 Quote

Living in Florida for the last 2.5 years, there is so much negativity with FL. I agree there are hurricanes, nobody talks about hailstorms, tornadoes, etc., in other states, but if you avoid living in the flood areas you can wither out the winds and there is plenty of time to prepare for the storm as forecasting has improved a lot. 1 Quote
