Repurposing the existing structures to suit the ruling party's needs (here Islamic rulers), has been a practice from a long time. Many temples were repurposed as such, e.g.Babri masjid, Gyan Vapi. Desecrating the deity and using temple as a tomb was seen as a ultimate insult. That's why you see Tombs like Taj Mahal and dargahs. Unless the whole Taj Mahal is made public, you will never know what's being hidden from public. Quote

There were few photos released by ASI in 2022 of restoration work. the reason that people were not allowed because of the deteriorating pillars and the seepage of water from the Yamuna river beside. If you read the ASI report they mentioned about the restoration works done periodically to protect the basement. That could be the main reason for not allowing public. If you read the farman exchanges (actual archaelogical evidences that still exist) between raja jai singh and mughal court you will understand the transaction of land, how raja jai sing supplied marble for the construction etc. some example of restoration work released by ASI Before After Quote
Android_Halwa Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 Forget about the facts, Mughal rulers built something like Taj Mahal ante I still won’t believe….their style of architecture is completely different and they are really bad at stone carvings…First time when I visited Taj, I literally spent the whole day admiring the architectural beauty of the structure…fine carvings, even quran verses which engraved in colored atones and embedded in the marble and that was such a fine piece of art and mughals were unable to create nothing even smaller or closer to Taj in their whole period. Read the ASI report, of how the arched foundation is constructed to stabilize the upper structure, and similar foundational architecture is used in other tombs as well there is detailed report on mughal architecture of construction. it took more than a two decades for the construction, there is French traveler Jean Baptiste who wrote about this massive construction in detail in his accounts. Also the badhshanama (20 years of work) and financial records are the archaeological evidences which give details about the yearly construction work. (how the land acquired, the payments received by craftsmen are also mentioned in the financial records) go through them first you will get an idea. Royal archives of Raj jai singh of kachwaha dynasty (jaipur archives) the records are still available in the rajasthan state archives contain land transaction between him and Shajahan, supply of marble etc. Also study about the deterioration happening to the foundations and courts orders about the restoration. I agree there were lot temples that are destroyed and used for construction ( example you can find pre mughal indian architecture in Qutub minar) and ASI has reported about them too. But the same ASI reported that there werent any previous constructions below Taj mahal to court in 2017, 2022,2023 and these claims were false? there is an IIT rookie survey in 1993 on the structure and recent survey in 2021-22 and periodical inspections. This is the data overs the Years from ASI if they found anything at least one member of the team would have likely reported or documented it. Quote
anna_gari_maata Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 Can't comment on Taj Mahal but Qutub Minar is a clear remodelled structure based on hindu kingdom towers and there are clear temple pillars destroyed and revamed by muslims Quote

IIT survey is "NOT" archeological, so you don't need expect any evidence for that. I doubt if they ever had access to the restricted portions. Government agencies have tendency to coverup many things, that doesn't suit political interests. Again, whatever photographs ASI released even the "before" rework ones show signs of substantial modification. Truth shall be uncovered only if public access is given to the restricted area. Quote
