EyBisa Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Barely a year and a half after coming to power, the alliance government in Andhra Pradesh is facing severe anti-incumbency and growing public dissatisfaction. What once appeared as a strong coalition of political forces is now struggling with internal rifts, governance failures and a declining public image. The biggest blows have come from two major issues; the spread of fake liquor and the sand mafia. These problems have not only eroded public trust but also given the opposition YSRCP a renewed sense of hope for the 2029 elections. The speed at which anti-incumbency has taken root is alarming for the ruling coalition. Internal conflicts among alliance leaders are worsening the situation. - In Anantapur, MLA Daggubati Prasad’s derogatory remarks against Jr. NTR sparked outrage. - Fights between Tadipatri municipal chairman JC Prabhakar Reddy and Jammalamadugu BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy are worse. - The controversial statements by the JC brothers, and frequent disputes between Kadapa MLA Madhavi Reddy and Kamalapuram MLA Chaitanya Reddy have projected a divided image. - The rivalry between Vijayawada leaders Kesineni Chinni and Kolikapudi, and the open criticism of Gannavaram MLA Yarlagadda Venkat Rao by his own party colleagues, further weaken the government’s credibility. Even the recent Assembly session exposed the cracks within the coalition. TDP leader Bonda Uma publicly questioned Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s inaccessibility, prompting a sharp reaction from Pawan. Similarly, TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna’s harsh words against the cinematography minister over protocol issues and remarks involving actor Chiranjeevi created further embarrassment for the party. Adding to this turmoil, the recent murder of Lakshmi Naidu has deepened tensions between two dominant communities within the alliance’s support base. Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s alleged interference in the Home Department and MP Raghurama Raju’s sarcastic comments about him have intensified public criticism. With governance lapses, corruption allegations and increasing factionalism, the alliance government’s credibility is rapidly deteriorating. Every misstep and public quarrel only strengthens the YSRCP’s position, providing the opposition with fresh political oxygen ahead of 2029. If the alliance fails to restore discipline and deliver effective governance soon, its path to survival could become increasingly narrow. 2 Quote
