Differences from Global EntryGlobal Entry uses facial recognition technology mainly for expedited screening of enrolled travelers (mostly U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents).

Until now, U.S. citizens’ facial images in Global Entry have been deleted after 12 hours and lawful permanent residents' photos after 14 days

It was optional for those not wanting to use biometrics—they could opt for manual inspection lines instead

The system was not universally mandatory for all travelers, nor did it include children under 14 and seniors over 79
